 Information Systems Engineer and Supervisory Information Technology Specialist / Project Manager

Currently Directs the IT program in support of 25,000+ employees, management, and executive officials. Develops long and short range program goals. Leader in planning for the organization’s IT. Conducts periodic review of the organization’s program goals. Personally designed, implemented, administered, and configured every aspect of our server farm, then trained each site lead. The lead advisor to the executive director on impact to organizational structure. Planned and managed IT projects. Coordinates and executes plans with counterparts throughout Division, CORPS, MACOMs, and other agencies. Ensures that the design, development, implementation, and documentation of all IT systems utilized in the Division are adequate for mission success. Develops IT justifications as well as presenting formal briefings on IT resources, capabilities, and plans submitted to the General Officer level. Responsible for preparing detail specifications and requirements to identify and procure IT resources in conjunction with motivating and ensuring subordinates are accurate with their assessment. Responsible for directing inclusion/exclusion of budget submission for IT budget plan, operational and financial requirements, and budget requirement information. Exercises delegated supervisory authorities and personnel management responsibilities through multiple subordinate supervisors to plan, assign, and carry out the day-to-day work. Responsible for developing performance standards and ratings for supervisors and employees as well as serving as the reviewing official for ratings. Developed, executed, and supported all Information Technology planning, engineering, operations, implementation, interoperability, and network/systems design for this military organization with 8 corporate branches located over 5 states and 3 international locations. Managed vendor relationships, capital expenditures, capability analysis, performed risk assessments against planned milestones, and coordinated external dependencies.  Responsible for the technology integration and development of security guidelines and controls on shared resources.  Defined, established, and directed organizational focus on challenging and highly complex projects and programs.

▪  Project Management for a $32 million dollar Active Directory Forest and network/infrastructure project. Responsible for developing 18 Active Directory Forest server suites supporting 4000 users per each suite with DC/DNS (Server 2003 Enterprise), E-mail (Exchange 2003), Collaboration Suite (SharePoint 2003), Tape Backup/Recovery (PowerVault 136T), FAS technology (FAS270), SAN technology (EMC CX300 and CX500), Video Teleconferencing Suites (VTC), Army Specific Tactical Systems, redundancy/failover, desktop support, and desktop applications. Responsible for equipment design and procurement, Forest and Organization Unit (OU) structure design, server design, permissions and security assignments, plans and policies development, project timeline creation and validation, team assignments, and work flow. Total support and equipment comes to 196 server, 36 small SAN technology, 54 Cisco switches, 108 routers, 2 large scale SANs, 2 large scale Tape Backup systems, and 18 VTCs.

 ▪  Information Assurance Manager (IAM) / Certifying Agent (CA) responsible for all aspects of security accreditation packets and authorizations for the government’s SIPR network for the 1st Infantry Division on Fort Riley.

▪  Led the organization through upgrades to capitalize on emerging technologies and application enhancements, replaced obsolete systems with new LAN/WAN network technology.

 ▪  Developed and implemented bold and aggressive IT plans and policies to support a 4-state alignment and reorganization.

 ▪  Responsible for understanding, implementing, enforcing, supervising government and federal guidelines, policies, and regulations.

 ▪  Conducted, evaluated, and recommended dynamic and highly technical training in Information Technology aspects, network design, information assurance, active directory, Microsoft/Cisco applications and operations for both clients and internal staff.

       ▪  Designed, implemented, administered, and configured a corporate wide LAN/WAN utilizing multiple T1 circuits, ATM, Fiber Optics,  routers, CSU/DSUs, and multiplexers between HQ and
             5 branch offices over 5 states providing classified and unclassified voice, data, ISDN based video teleconferencing, Voice over IP (VoIP), SharePoint Portal Server
             (electronic records, forms, library, Internal Web Portal), and Microsoft Exchange communications for over 20,000 personnel.

 ▪  Researched and analyzed IT problems, issues, and program requirements that were relative to promoting products and services throughout the organization’s area programs.
